In my case (and I suspect in many others) it has nothing to do with a passwordĬhange. To do with the fact that Outlook has checked for email and for some reason has timed out (presumably the server at the other end did not respond fast enough), so the pop-up occurs. How do I know? The next time Outlook checks for email, it works just fine.

It happens when the password has not changed. I click OK, then it checks for my email successfully.

  • More information that I am not sure matters: Unfortunately for me, the "bellsouth" address I have is more than fourteen years old, has been used for so many logins and user IDs for too many online reasons that I cannot even remember and I would hate to just chuck it out. This problem only recently started happening, it's a personal computer I use either Firefox or Chrome and not IE Explorer. Though it was selected the last time this nightmarish inconvenience occurred. If I test the accounts out on OWA they work fine and if I setup their respective profiles on my own machine they work fine.Can somebody please tell me why this pop up box with the server name and my user name and password (all three pre-populated) continuously pops up requesting that I click "OK"?Īnother weird thing is that after I have done this the last time (selected the "Save this password in your password list" box and clicked "OK"), The pop up will reappear and the "Save this password to your password list" checkbox is no longer selected even

    This is becoming a real pain here at work as it's happening now on 5 computers randomly yet everyone else is working fine.

    Strangely enough, if I click cancel on this window often the accounts will connect to Exchange and work perfectly for a few minutes before the window returns again, but sometimes clicking cancel sets Outlook into a "Disconnected" state and it never asks for If I replace the email address with their account name and type in the correct password and check "Remember password" the window asking for user credentials immediately opens again and this happens an indefinite amount of times if you attempt this process What happens is that upon opening Outlook, it requests the user's password to be entered and as a username it's already prepopulated the field with their email address. I'm not having this issue with all of the users, but only a select few.

    We're running Windows SBS 2008 R2 with Microsoft Exchange and the clients range between Windows XP and Windows 7 Professional OS' as well as using either Outlook 2007 or 2010. I've been searching high and low for an answer to this riddle.
